Accenting the Unique, Rich Personality of South Louisiana in the Social Media Sphere
A three-city tour of seminars and events featuring local SM professionals and headlining weblebrity and Social Media Superstar Amber Osborne, a.k.a.
Lafayette · Baton Rouge · New Orleans
The purpose of these events is to raise awareness of the use of Social Media for businesses of all kinds, dispel myths and show how Social Media can be fun and effective for business, and to benefit community based non-profit organizations.
In each city, a Social Media conference with a panel of speakers. The headline speaker is weblebrity/social media superstar from Tampa, FL, Amber Osborne a.k.a. “Miss Destructo” (www.missdestructo.com). The week before this tour, Amber will be in Austin, TX as a panelist at SXSW, the largest media/music conference in North America (www.sxsw.com).
The Destructo Tour conference series starts in Lafayette on Monday, March 21 with a Bruce’s Yam’s reunion, and ends Saturday, March 26 with an AAF-BR (American Advertising Federation Baton Rouge) Student Conference and a reception/party hosted by Brian Harris Chevrolet on Florida Blvd. near Sherwood Forest.
Saturday night… well, that’s free time. Alligator fighting. Karaoke. Spillway races. Who knows. Oh, ahem. um.. yes.
Ticket sales will benefit local, community based non-profit organizations in each city. These non-profits will be invited to attend the conference to learn how to use Social Media tools to help accomplish their goals. They will also be given the opportunity to present their organization at the conference.

Sponsorships to cover costs will receive in return (“in kind” donations will be given sponsor benefits):
- tickets to the conference (# determined by the level of sponsorship),
- attendance to a private dinner or lunch with the speakers, with the opportunity to ask questions and get advice for their social media strategy,
- display space and an introduction at the conference,
- promotion as a sponsor of the tour, and
- inclusion on a list of sponsors on the back of a tour t-shirt (similar to concert t-shirts listing cities).
We’ll show Amber around, of course, so tell us what local attractions she just shouldn’t miss. And, you’ll be able to follow us the whole week on Twitter, and (cross fingers) live streaming.
